Journal Response #5

Level Up Chapter 9- The chapter really dove in depth of the term level and how it has been created, changed, and expanded on over the last decades. The mapping and level of a game can bring a different experience to the player; For example like in the chapter it explained how Super Mario used worlds as its definitions of levels with reused texture but had a fun experience with the challenges and the different look of each world that got you excited for the next part of the game. The goal is definitely an important part of the level because there has to be a reason to get through to the end and have the satisfaction of completion. The tips on how to create mapping is helpful as one of them is something I always likes in games which is randomness.

The Trust Spectrum- Games can have a huge factor in meeting and socializing with other people but I agree that it can only reach an extent of friendship because most of the time they aren't people who you will stay in contact with unless you know them face to face. There are relationships that can become deep but this will eventually lead to a meeting in real life because even if you feel close to the person you don't really know them as a person, That's why virtual communication will always have a line of trust.
