GD 201 Journal Response #4

The aesthetics of the game matter much more than players realize. The chapters really explained the whole experience of mechanics can only go so far in a game. For example, if you ever played ghost of tsushima, you will know how much greatness of beauty and time they put in the overall game. The graphics were next level and stunning as it made you fell like you were in the samurai period, the gameplay was fun and challenging as you had upgrades to change the experience and make you feel like a  beast to take on tougher enemies. The story is enough to reel you in with the theme of loss, betrayal, and victory. Its awesome how they also capture this with the side characters by making their stories interesting that make you want to keep playing their missions. The gist of it all is that a games mechanics must be fun but there are other aspects that play a factor in the overall experience of the game like music, art, graphics, story, environment(level design), and characters.
